Gold Award · Active Ingredient Category · in-cosmetics Asia 2025The world’s first clinically validated lysin for body odour control.
ArcherZyme® is fast-acting: it is designed to address the factors that cause underarm odour while preserving the rest of the underarm microbiome. in-cosmetics Asia 2025 Gold Award winner.
Underarm odour is linked to specific bacteria.
Conventional deodorants either act broadly (alcohol, antimicrobials), block sweat (aluminium), or mask. ArcherZyme® is designed to address the bacteria associated with underarm odour, including S. hominis, while leaving the rest of the skin’s microbiome in balance.
ArcherZyme® is a phage-derived enzyme that recognises and selectively acts on bacteria associated with underarm odour, such as S. hominis, while leaving the rest of the skin community undisturbed.
Fast-acting, clinically validated
Fast-acting, with all-day freshness from a single use.
ArcherZyme® is built for speed. In the lab, it measurably reduces odour-associated bacteria within 10 minutes of application. In the clinical study, the first odour reading was taken at 2 hours, where the treated side was already ~61% fresher, and we expect future studies with earlier measurement points to show the benefit sooner still.
~0%

Clinical study: n=27, split-axilla design (one underarm treated, one control), single supervised application + one week daily home use. Odour scored by a 6-person sniffer panel (0–10 scale) at 0h, 2h, 8h and 24h, plus qPCR microbiome analysis. The 2-hour point was the first measurement; earlier time points were not assessed in this study. 10-minute activity is from in vitro testing. van Steensel et al., manuscript accepted.

Formulating with our actives
Built to drop into your formula.
Both actives are protein-based, so formulation friendliness comes down to protecting the protein. Below is the practical guidance our team shares with formulators. Full compatibility tables and stability support come with a sample.
Plays well with
- Base & solvents: Buffered water, propanediol, propylene glycol
- Humectants: Glycerol, trehalose, dextran, amino acids
- Gelling agents: Carbomer 940, HEC, HPMC, chitosan
- Thickeners: Cellulose gum, xanthan gum (minimal)
- Surfactants: Polysorbate 20/60/80, poloxamer 184/188, decyl/coco-glucoside (minimal)
- Oils: Caprylic/capric triglyceride, squalane, dimethicone, mineral oil
- Stabilisers: Trehalose, tocopherol, sodium ascorbyl phosphate (EDTA: SmartArrow® only)
Best avoided
- Alcohols: Ethanol, isopropanol: denature proteins even at low levels
- Strong ionic surfactants: SLS, SLES (CAPB only if validated): denaturing
- Reactive aldehydes: Citral, cinnamaldehyde, benzaldehyde: react with protein
- Reducing sugars: Glucose, fructose, lactose: Maillard reaction over time
- Alkaline soap systems: pH >9 irreversibly unfolds protein
- Inorganic thickeners: Polyphosphates, clays: can bind/adsorb protein
| Caprylic/capric triglyceride | Carrier oil | 80–85% w/w |
| Jojoba seed oil | Natural oil | 10% w/w |
| Silica dimethyl silylate | Rheology modifier | 5% w/w |
| ArcherZyme® | Active | 1% w/w |
